Kudos For A Killer Year

Earlier this year a bunch of debut novelists got together and came up with the idea to help promote each other's books. Thus Killer Year was born.

They've managed a Herculean task: sending out press releases, making t-shirts, putting out a website, running a group blog and generally trying to do right by each other.

I was lucky enough to meet a few of them at the International Thriller Writers inaugural conference, Thrillerfest, this last June, and gotten to know a few others through their online world. All amazing people and damn fine writers. They have really done an enormous amount of work to get where they are.

And now they're getting a little help.

The ITW has officially taken on helping the Killer Year group by providing support, mentoring and promotion. On top of that the ITW is taking on Killer Year as an ongoing program, so another group of new writers can get that same support and benefit every year.

The Killer Year crowd is Brett Battles, J.T. Ellison, Jason Pinter, Sandra Ruttan, Robert Gregory Browne, Bill Cameron, Toni McGee Causey, Sean Chercover, Patry Francis, Marc Lecard, Derek Nikitas, Gregg Olsen, Marcus Sakey, and Dave White.

I can only hope to some day be in such fine company.

Thanks for the the support! (And glad to have discovered your blog. There's no noir like L.A. noir.)
