Twenty-two stories, dark, bleak, unsettling, yet many are affirming in odd ways. You find yourself unaccountably rooting for whoever the central character is, even while you know that the end result may be—is likely to be—mayhem, murder along with painful destruction. Definitely not for the faint of heart.Affirming. Not a word that would have ever occurred to me.
Especially after reading Guthrie's piece. The things that man does to turnips...
Point is the dude likes it.
